Synopsis of the Wellingborough Branch



The Wellingborough Branch is Part of The Peterborough Guild Of Church Bellringers and is situated in the County of Northamptonshire

The Branch has 21 Ringable Towers which are made up of the following:

 1 x 3 Bell      Sywell
 3 x 5 Bell      Easton Maudit,Gt Doddington,Whiston
 9 x 6 Bell      Bozeat,Ecton,Grendon,Mears Ashby,Orlingbury,
                       Stanwick,Wilby,Wollaston,Yardley Hastings
 6 X 8 Bell     Earls Barton,Finedon,Irchester,Irthlingborough,Rushden,Wellingborough
 1 x 10 Bell   Higham Ferrers
 1 x 12 Bell   Moulton

The average weight of the Tenors is 14 cwt with the heaviest being Wellingborough at 28 cwt and the lightest being Gt.Doddington at 5 cwt.

The Branch has 118 Members.

Annually the Branch holds a Quarter Peal day and a Striking contest as well as having regular Monthly Surprise practices and general ringing meetings where All are Welcome throughout the year,and also has a Branch Quiz evening .
